This is a quick and engaging read that really made me think days after I read it.  I absolutely loved the heavy influence and reference to my favorite book of all time, To Kill a Mockingbird.  I was really impressed that the author was able to convey a message without becoming overly preachy or schmaltzy like a bad PSA or even worse one of those Lifetime movies.  The story was enthralling and full of memorable characters, the plot moves quickly, and I enjoyed the overall themes of justice, paying it forward, and standing up for yourself what you believe in.


It also looks like there's going to be more than one book about The Mockingbirds which is exciting for me. I am looking forward to seeing how the characters in this story develop in the next one!
